Steps to take immediately:

In order to make progress on my list these are all the remaining tasks and steps I'm going to take immediately:

Sew something without help
-This is more a matter of money than anything else. I'm putting it off until I get my fall disbursement check for school, but I'm pretty sure I could do something simple now, like a viking apron. I can't make everything I want, but I think I can do halfway decent at something simple. So... Finaces!

Warp the loom without help
-The loom is now packed in a box in the garage, so, it'll have to wait until after I move. And after I get that summer disbursement check so I can buy some nice yarn. But, I have instructions on how to do it again, and I think I can handle it.

Learn the Hebrew Printed Alphabet
-I'm taking Hebrew at school in the fall, so if I don't do it by then, I'll certainly do it then.

Have garb appropriate to 13th Century Ukraine
-Honestly, I need a teacher, and I don't know anyone here willing to teach. I really want to do this one, so I'm leaving it on the list, but I doubt I'll be able to while I live in Meridies.

Pass my student teaching
-Fall semester!

Authorize for Heavy Fighting
-I need to start making more regular practices, and fix my shield.

Learn to set up my own sewing machine
-I really need to try to do this at some point, and see if I can figure it out. But the sewing supplies are packed, so it will have to wait until I move.

Go Rafting
-Sign up for trip on first day of school.

Learn the Hebrew handwritten alphabet
-Again, this is a job for the fall

Bake cupcakes
-I think I'm going to do this as a welcome home gift to us when we move.

Take Derech Torah class
-In progress

Make a pie
-I'll probably do this on 3/14 next year, just to be clever.

Find 10 wines I like
-I think I have 3 that I like, but I haven't written them up. So I should write them up, and then ask the guy at the wine store for more suggestions.

Make a new 101 list
-At the end of this list

Scan all photo albums
-Again, they're all packed, so I'll restart this as soon as I move.

Learn 50 new things by clicking random wiki articles
-One a week gets this done in a year. I need to be better about doing this though.

NaBloPoMo
-June? Depending on the theme... I tried to do April but it was all about poetry. lol.

Hockey Game
-Not exactly the right season for it. I'll talk to my husband about it in a few months.

Baseball Game
-Kevin and I have plans to go to a Dodgers game but we still need to buy the tickets. So I'll talk to him about doing this.

Buy a house
-In Progress

Spend a day at the beach
-I've got a hotel for a whole week at the beach! I paid for it off my credit card reward points that I haven't spent since 2005 lol!

Work on a Habitat House
-Waiting for the temple to say something about this.

Make a hippocras
-Christmas

Complete a coloring book
-I need to find either one of my coloring books. They're probably packed, so I'll get back on this when we move.

Make an herb garden
-Silly to do it here... have to wait until the move.

Write on 10 creative writing prompts
-1 a month gets this done in about a year.

Spend a day writing and photographing my neighborhood
-Obviously, this is after I move.

Complete a photo scavenger hunt
-This actually sounds like a good thing to spend some time doing maybe tomorrow.

Double store important photographs someplace besides flickr
-Tonight I'll ask my friends where they recommend and maybe explore a little. Then over the next few weeks I'll go through my flickr and download the ones I want to keep.

Take a self portrait every month for a year - starting on my 31st birthday will let me finish this one right as t he list ends in September 2013.

NeoNed

This movie starts in a mental hospital, where a neonazi named Ned has murdered a guy but pled insanity. He meets a black woman who thinks she's the reincarnation of Hitler. They fall in love. I honestly couldn't care less about either of the characters. The plot-line was predictable, other than that the characters were both nuts, and not even well portrayed nuts. The movie is from 2005, and I'm shocked that it's that recent. I was pretty bored throughout.

An amusement park

Today I went to 6 flags over Georgia. It's early in the season so we were able to pretty much just walk from one ride to another without much waiting. A lot of it was really fun. The only problem came at the very end, really. I was too fat to fit in a roller coaster, but not enough so that I had to get off. Just enough so so that my back wasn't flush against the seat. It HURT. Nonetheless, I'd go again, which is good since I have a season pass now to there and white water.

Plans for how to finish this!

What I can do in March and April to finish this list!

Start Date: Tuesday, January 1, 2011
• End Date: Thursday, September 29, 2013
PitaPata Dog tickers

Entertainment
1. Read 50 random articles on wikipedia

If I do this weekly I can do this in a year and be done.

2. Sew something without help

This one is suffering from a lack of money. It honestly should probably be removed, but I really really wanna do it.

3. Warp loom without help

Same with this one.

5. Learn pysanky

This one is suffering from a lack of attention to it. And lack of a teacher.

6. Learn Hebrew printed alphabet

I'll probably take Hebrew at school and do this then... I'm working on it though, slowly.

9. Have garb appropriate to Ukraine 13th century

Money issues... no money to buy fabric. :(

11. See a Shakespearean play at the Shakespeare tavern

Lauren is supposed to be looking up info on Much Ado About Nothing. So, yeah.

14. Pass my student teaching

Fall semester

15. Take a camera everywhere for 2 weeks

I'm 2 days into this goal actually. So I should be able to cross it off in April.

16. Go through my closet, and get rid of stuff that doesn't fit

When I'm packing to move I suppose I'll do this at the same time.

19. Authorize for heavy fighting

Heavy fighting is hurting my shoulder, like, a lot. So I haven't been doing it. I should probably change this goal, really.

21. Learn to set up my own sewing machine

Lacking a teacher

22. Read a children's book in Hebrew

After the class I imagine...

25. Attend a baseball game

Kevin is working on this one for me...

28. Attend a hockey game

I think Kevin is working on this one, too.

29. Go rafting

There's a school trip, but it's not cheap, so I'm possibly reconsidering this one, or possibly waiting to see what finances look like in the summer.

30. Learn the Hebrew handwritten alphabet

Again, I'll do this in the class

31. Watch 26 movies one for each letter

I only need a couple more movies. I'm kinda waiting until Kevin goes back on night shift in April to watch them though.

35. Complete a coloring book

I have one of the Hebrew alphabet I'm working on... though I haven't for the last few weeks. i need to get back to it. And find it again..

44. Bake Cupcakes

Right now I'm kinda out of money to do this.

48. Take a photo a day for a year

Even carrying my camera around all the time I'm not doing this. Maybe I'm not as into photography as I thought.

51. NaBloPoMo

April I'll try it!

53. Take Derech Torah class

In process. Will be until Summer.

54. Spend a day at the beach

Tabby and I are talking about doing this as it gets warmer. Probably end of summer though given my work schedule.

57. Help build a Habitat for Humanity House

My Temple suppposedly does this every year, so I'm waiting for them, since Habitat hasn't gotten back to me about working for them by myself.

59. Make a hippocras.

Feels like kinda a winter thing. I'll probably do it for Christmas.

63. Visit an amusement park

It is the time of year for that. I should go. I wonder if anyone is interested in going with me...

68. Get rid of 100 things

I'll finish this by getting rid of clothes that don't fit, when we move.

69. Keep a food diary for a month

April!

81. Open a cookbook to a random page and make it - providing no one is allergic to it

Have to get the kitchen cleaned first.

82. Make a pie

Have to get the kitchen cleaned first. And probably buy a pie tin, and other expensive things.

83. Renew my passport

$$$... :(

84. Buy a house

Working on it. That's why all the money troubles in the first place.

87. Donate blood

Have an appointment.

90. Scan in old pictures to make digital copies

Old pictures are now at mom's house. Needs to wait until I move now.

92. Make one good thing a day my facebook status for a month

April!

93. Find 10 beers I like and figure out similarities between them so I can guess at new beers

What I'm finding is that I don't really like beers at all. I'm doing much better with wines though.

95. Find 10 wines I like and figure out similarities between them so I can guess at new wines

Be more adventurous!

96. Make a new 101 list at the end of this list

Not yet :p

98. Be able to count to 10 in 10 languages

If I learn one a month I'll be done right around the end of this list I think.

What I learned from Wiki

Thing the First:

All members of the genus Conus, sea snails, are venomous and can hurt you.

Beet Soup

I tried a beet soup that a friend from Australia sent me, via a mutual friend from Russia. Supposedly it's a traditional meal there. The recipe is as follows:

So as I told you it's cold soup type and we call it Svekol'nik (Svekla = beet in russian)
You need wash, peel beet and cut it into cubes (size near 1x1 cm)
Add cold water (2 l for 0.5 kg beet) add slightly vin?gar and salt and boil, after boiling decrease fair and cook it within 40-60 min in little fair (it must be almost boil, but not boil) After it chill soup and put in the fridge
you also need cook potaoes and eggs (If you do not eat eggs just don't add it)
So soup is practically ready!
When you wish refresh by cold soup you need just take beet broth from the fridge, fill a tureen and add potatoes (cut in the cubes), eggs, cocumbers and spring onion. I like also add some mustard. Enjoy!

[later, in Skype chat, Marina clarified in answer to some questions:]

grate eggs and cucumbers into cubes, onion - small pieces

Keep the broth separate from the potatoes, eggs, cucumbers and spring onion until ready to eat, otherwise the solid ingredients swell.

My basic thoughts were... it was... not very good. I mean, I don't know exactly what went wrong, but it wasn't very good. It's possible I just don't like beets - I've never had them before (to be honest, I thought they were turnips!) it's also possible I don't like cold soups. Whatever the issue, I don't think I'll be repeating this one.

Zulu

OK, I confess, I started watching this movie, and didn't finish. It was just that bad. It's a supposedly true story of the Zulu wars in South Africa. But it just made these people out to be animals. I guess I shouldn't have expected much more from 1964... but where do you find movies that start with Z? lol

E is for Emma. I watched this movie, based on the book by Jane Austen, tonight. It was really slow, actually, and I'm still not entirely sure what's going on. The gossipy girls are driving me nuts. Basically... two stars. I guess.
