IPA

I tried something I'd never had before today - an IPA. It's interesting. I liked it.

Visit A Brewery

Well we visited Stone Brewery today. I didn't think I liked beer, because I've never really found many I liked (the exception being Rhinehart's beerdegaard). I found two I liked today. Apparently I don't like the beers Kevin gives me because he doesn't like hopps, and I really do. Anyway, the guy really needed a microphone because I couldn't hear him at all. Then we had lunch at their restaurant. The food was OK. The brownie was good. As was the mac 'n beer-cheese.

Lamb!

I forgot to post this when I tried it, but Laura made lamb pita pockets which were really good. I was nervous because my experience with goat was so bad, but this was really yummy!

Chicken Vodka

Tonight I tried Chicken with Vodka sauce at Ippolitos. All I really have to say is YUM YUM! Honestly, I have been afraid to try this my whole life because who really likes the taste of vodka? But, I tried it tonight, and I'll definitely try it again!

Michael Clayton

One more new movie. I enjoyed this one, but was confused by the ending. That's all I'll say as I don't want to provide spoilers. Anyway, it's the story of a "fixer" at a law firm and a manic depressive partner (like law firm partner not sexual partner) and a corrupt corporation. 3 stars.

Visit Atlanta

I'm in Atlanta, just for the weekend. I'm taking a test, and leaving my cat with my family until I get back here for good. So far it's been a good weekend. I went to Moes and then mom quizzed me on the test I'm about to take. And I've slept, because I took the redeye and didn't manage to sleep on it at all.

Swim With a Dolphin

Today was one of the big ones on the list - one that I've wanted to do for years. I went to Sea World in San Diego and swam with a dolphin named Toby. Dolphins feel like slippery rubber. Anyway, we got to give a few commands, and then I got a hug. It was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this to everyone.

Get an A(-)

Well, following my theory that an A is an A and these plus and minuses are stupid, I did accomplish this goal. So I'll finish UCR with a GPA of 3.6... not good, not bad.

Try New Foods: Angus Beef

OK So I'm pushing it a little here, but I tried Arby's new Angus Beef sandwich. It was Ok, but I really don't get the big obsessive angus beef thing. It's no better than every day beef. I'd eat it again, because I like beef of most sorts, but I don't understand what's so special about it.

Viva La Vegas

Goal Accomplished: Visit Las Vegas

This weekend was my final conference, and Laura and I drove out to Vegas for it. I can't say I really "did" Vegas, as that would be expensive. Really expensive. But we went out Friday night for dinner, and saw a lava show that was free on the side of the road. We also ate at a nice buffet.


I even have video!



Saturday we went to the Belagio and saw the water show. As well as walked around a little bit.




I lost $5 to a 25 cent slot machine. Didn't even win a free spin. I have no idea why people waste so much time on those if they don't ever win anything. Lame-sauce.

So overall, I'm not really a Vegas girl.

Success!

I managed to keep my car clean for a month! Now, I get to drive it to Vegas and cross another one off my list!

Score at 40

I crossed another one off my list today - score at 40! and I did it in a big way - with a bullseye! This is one of those goals that I thought was a ways off, I'd probably get in a year or so, so I'm thrilled to get it now! We shot 4 royal rounds. I scored at the 40 in 3 of them, getting the bullseye, a one point shot and a two point shot. Overall though I'm not too happy with my shooting. I mean, I scored an 18 in warmup in one round at the 20. Then my highest royal round score was an 18. So what gives? Sighs. I only shoot well when it doesn't matter.

Learn Inkle Weaving

After card weaving, inkle weaving is incredibly simple. I kind of like it. Next up, to learn some patterns on it. But I understand how the patterns work and stuff. I really like that you can't screw it up, lol! Anyway, I went over to Erin's house yesterday and she taught me this. Next week she's going to help me with patterns.
